Now in its eighteenth year, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering is pleased to welcome again Mr. Richard Charlesworth MVO from Cheshire, England as Master of Ceremonies for this year's event. Richard is no stranger to Quail Lodge & Golf Club and The Quail, having acted as Master of Ceremonies at The Quail for over fifteen years and has many years of experience working with fine and rare automobiles. Now retired and acting as an Automotive Consultant, Richard previously enjoyed a career at Bentley Motors for over 40 years.

In his time at the esteemed British carmaker, Richard held a number of senior positions, finishing as Brand Ambassador. Over the years, he has fostered strong links between the company and its heritage and tradition, having overseen the acquisition and use of the company's collection of significant Bentleys representing its 100 year history. This role gave him the opportunity to drive historic Bentleys on the Mille Miglia, at Le Mans, and many other events and rallies.

Since retiring from Bentley, Richard has been able to take on a number of roles.

He was invited to join the board of Classic Motor Cars Ltd (CMC) of Bridgnorth, England as a non-executive, a position he held for four years. CMC are two-time winners of the highly prestigious Restoration of the Year award at the

Historic Motoring Awards, in 2011 and 2017. No other restoration company has achieved this recognition.

Richard is Chairman of the Steering Committee and joint Master of Ceremonies for the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, which shares ‘Best of the Best' status with The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and also joint MC at The London Concours, held annually at the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the City of London.

Richard is a Judge at the Zoute Concours in Belgium and the ‘21 Gun Salute' Concours in India. He was also honoured to act as Compere of the acclaimed ‘Concours Virtual' organised online by Magneto magazine in the summer of 2020.

In the year 2019 to 2020, Richard became Master of the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London, one of the ancient ‘Livery' Companies of the City of London, given its Royal Charter by King Charles II in 1677.

Richard Charlesworth's affinity with, and respect for classic cars means he is very well suited to guide us through the day's events at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. We are certain you will enjoy his rich, British accent, his appreciation for the cars on display, and his warmth and camaraderie on the microphone. Please join us once again in welcoming Richard to The Quail.
