HENNESSEY VENOM F5 ROADSTER

The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster is a bespoke mid-engine hypercar engineered to exceed 300 mph while delivering unparalleled performance and the world's most exhilarating open-air driving experience. It is Hennessey's continuation following the premiere of last year's Venom F5 Coupe, which sold out shortly after the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Built in Texas, the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster utilizes the same carbon fiber monocoque tub used for the Venom F5, aluminum alloy subframes, and a carbon fiber skin. The Venom F5's carbon fiber tub was designed and engineered with variants like the Roadster in mind, so there has been no loss of rigidity and stiffness in the tub. In addition, the Roadster features a distinctive multi-spoked wheel design, and its Targa top is a single removable panel fashioned from carbon fiber – artfully sculpted and beautifully crafted.

Sharing identical mechanical specifications as the F5 Coupe, the open-roof F5 Roadster boasts the same Hennessey-developed 6.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, named ‘Fury', producing a phenomenal 1,817 horsepower and 1,192 lb-ft of torque. Further debuting on the Roadster is a dramatic transparent glass engine cover that allows owners and admirers to see the mechanical jewelry within the engine bay. To ensure the glass will withstand the immense speeds capable of the car, Hennessey engaged an aerospace glass manufacturer to develop and produce the new cover. Overall performance is astonishing and relentless, amplified by the lack of roof – Hennessey targets an independently validated top speed of more than 500 km/h (311 mph).

"The Venom F5 Roadster takes the incredible platform we currently have and turns it up to 11 because of its ability to be driven with the roof removed. This makes it utterly unique in the hypercar segment. It wasn't enough to simply remove the top; we wanted to truly set it apart with purposeful touches such as the bespoke wheel design and clear engine cover," notes Nathan Malinick, Hennessey's director of design.

Power and speed dominated the design parameters, but the crucial engineering goal was to deliver a peerless performance envelope, methodically honed dynamics (tuned by Chief Engineer John Heinricy), and an indisputably visceral open-air experience. The Venom F5 Roadster project is overseen by company Founder and CEO John Hennessey, who has spent 30-plus years making fast cars faster.

"We can't make the Venom F5 better, but we can alter the experience for those inside the hypercar," remarks Hennessey. "Removing the roof heightens all the senses to an astonishing degree – it changes everything from the physical sensations to the sound of the V8 engine. As a result, the Venom F5 Roadster will undoubtedly add to the already insane involvement of the Venom F5."

Pricing for the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster begins at US$2.75 million, with each of the 30 personalized examples individually commissioned to its owner.
