Joan Murphy Pascarella, 82, of Loudonvill­e passed into eternal rest on Wednesday morning March 12, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany with her loving family by her side.

Joan was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Delorme Murphy and loving wife of Michael A. Pascarella of Loudonvill­e for 63 years. Joan had been employed for over 20 years at the medical records department of St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy and for more than 15 years at The Visiting Nurses Associatio­n in Albany.

Joan enjoyed reading, playing bocce, traveling, playing mahjong and playing golf with her husband Mike. Joan was a lover of all animals. But the most important thing in her life was spending time with her loving family. In addition to her husband, Joan is also survived by her sons, James Pascarella of Albany, Daniel Pascarella and his wife Denise of Wynantskil­l, Patrick Pascarella of Albany and was predecease­d by her son, Michael Pascarella. Joan is also survived by her two granddaugh­ters, Crystal Pascarella Swinton and Kelly Marie Pascarella. Joan is the sister of Mary Lorraine O’Keefe of DeFreestvi­lle and was predecease­d by her brothers, Joseph (Alice), Edward (Grace) and John (Ann) Murphy. Joan is also survived by her brother-inlaw, Anthony (Rosemary) Pascarella and her sister-Antoinette (Charles) Michoian. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Joan will be held at 8:45 a.m. on Monday from the William Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy. where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in Troy. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in Joan’s memory may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, Oakland Avenue, Menands NY 12204.
