Commercially available body-worn cameras have flooded the market in recent years, giving police departments a broader range of options. A market survey conducted by the Police Executive Research Forum in 2016 reviewed more than 60 cameras. A breakdown:

Weight: 0.53 to 6.5 ounces Recording capacity: 8to64GB Video resolution : 576to5MP Cost: $200 to $2,000 with the majority of cameras costing around $400. The most expensive cameras have the highest resolution.

• Most have night mode and a microphone.

• About half have GPS.

• Mounting options are chest, ear, belt, shoulder, headset, glasses.
