Science can now provide insights on how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age. THEATER OF WAR: An innovative public health and performance project, “Theater of War,” is coming to Williams College on Tuesday, March 7, with a 7:30 p.m. in the Adams Memorial Theatre in the ’62 Center. A reading of Sophocles’ “Ajax,” an ancient Greek play about the suicide of a great warrior, acts as a catalyst for facilitated town
hall discussion that follows the reading, discussing suicide, combat stress, alcohol and substance abuse, and the impact of war on families. The Williams’ performance will feature Emmy Award-winning actor Reg E. Cathey and Marjolaine Goldsmith. ALBANY LAW SCHOOL: “Script to Street: Opioids and the Law in the Capital District,” the 12th annual symposium presented by the Albany Government Law Review, will feature two panel discussions with local judges, attorneys, doctors, and other experts at the frontline of the opioid epidemic. The first panel will explore legal, behavioral, and medicinal alternatives to incarceration. She will describe how she was initially inspired by the work of the poet-artist Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loring-hoven and explore how it relates to her art making process.
