PAT’S PARADE: On Saturday, March 11, The Village of Hoosick Falls will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and its 26th Annual Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the second largest St. Patrick’s parade in the Capital District. Participat­ing bands in this year’s parade are The Excelsior Drum Corp,, Olde Saratoga Fyfe’s and Drums, Taconic Pipe Band, Avant Guard Drum Line, Galloway Gaelic Pipes and Drums , and the Brass Brothers Band. The parade will also feature floats, fire trucks and marchers. HOPKINS FOREST MAPLEFEST: With the recent February warm-up, maple sugaring season has arrived in time for Hopkins Memorial Forest’s annual Maplefest celebratio­n on Saturday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This annual event, which exalts the timehonore­d Yankee tradition of producing home grown sweeteners from local maple trees, will enable people to observe and take part in the process of producing maple syrup from the tree to the bottle. The event is free to the public and appropriat­e for people of all ages; it will be held regardless of the weather.
