John Francis “Jack” Quest
PUNTA GORDA, FL - John Francis “Jack” Quest, after a lengthy battle with cancer, died on March 21, 2017, at his Punta Gorda, FL residence, at the age of 78.
Jack was born in 1938, in Troy,Troy NY,NY to John and Elizabeth Quest. After graduating from high school in Watervliet, NY, Jack proudly served in the United States Army in Germany as Chief engineer of American Forces Network radio. Af-fter service, he studied electrical engineering at RPI in Troy, New York.
A longtimegt entrepreneur, Jack owned and operoperated several companies in New York and Florida. Besides being a passionate boater, (he owned 17 boats), he also enjoyed being an amateur radio operator, a sports car enthusiast, and an avid golf fan. A parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda, FL, Jack has remained a faithful Catholic his entire life.
He is survivedvived by his wife of 36 years, Judy Argento Quest; daughters Jacqueline (Mark) Boucher of Ballston Lake, NY and Lisa (Mike) McCoy of Clifton Park, NY; grandchildren Bryan, Jonathan, Megan, Jason, Daniel and Brennen.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. this Friday, March 24, 2017 at Roberson Funeral Home, 215 Mary St., Punta Gorda. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Jack at Sacred Heart on Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m. Committal with military honors will be held later at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
