ValleyCats National Anthem auditions: The Tri-City ValleyCats are set to host their 7th Annual National Anthem tryouts at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, April 8from 10:00a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration will begin promptly at 9:30a.m. and will be located on the lower level outside of Lord & Taylor.
The top five finalists will have their performances videotaped, which will then be placed online for a fan vote. The top vote-getter will receive the opportunity to perform on one of the biggest nights of the year at “The Joe,” such as Opening Night and the 4th of July, in front of an average crowd of 5,000-plus fans. The rest of the finalists will be awarded the chance to sing at another night during the season. Sage Gators Boys Basketball Camp: The Sage Spring Break Boys Basketball Camp will take place April 17-21youths ages 7-15. Register online at Sagegators.com. Rensselaer Dragons seek rugby players: The Rensselaer Dragons, a Rensselaer boys rugby club, is looking for players from 9th to 12th grade for the upcoming season. ic: The Sage Colleges’ men’s and women’s soccer teams will be sponsoring a free clinic, open to boys and girls, ages 9-14on Sunday, March 19.
The clinic will take place the Armory at Sage and is open to the first 35registered participants. All participants will be exposed to high level training that will allow them to work on all aspects of the game of soccer. Each player should bring their shin guards, a ball, and a water bottle with either turf shoes or sneakers. No cleats.
The clinic will be staffed by men’s coach Keith Simons, women’s coach Garrett Cobb and members of the two teams.
