CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. >> Todd Krolak had the high triple of 641 at last week’s Wednesday night Honors League at Spare Time Clifton Park. Mike Frontera was second with a high single of 223 and 640 series followed by Tony Villeneuve 236- 629 and Bill Oliver 230- 616.

THURSDAY SUPERSTARS MIXED >> Mike Mulligan rolled a 233 single and 673 series to lead all competitor­s at the Superstars Mixed League at Spare Time Clifton Park. Tony Gabriele was second with a 578 series. Colleen Mulligan had a high series of 467 for the females followed by Connie LaPierre, who rolled a 447.

SIENA IN HUNT >> The Siena men’s golf team is in contention following the first 18 of 36 holes at Villanova’s Wildcat Invitation­al being held at the White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pennsylvan­ia. The Saints stand eighth of 19 teams in a tightly bunched field, just nine strokes behind clubhouse leader Delaware.

Michael Christiful­li is tied for 12th overall individual­ly after carding a 1- over score of 72. The junior sunk a pair of birdies, and is just four strokes in back of co-leaders Patrick Luth of Cleveland State and Thomas Fricke of Navy who each shot 68s.

Senior Scott Kim and junior Jake Holt both stand just one stroke behind Christiful­li following rounds of 73. Kim’s 15 pars Monday tied for third most in the field.

Siena holds a commanding lead over their four fellow MAAC competitor­s. The Saints are 14 strokes clear of both Manhattan and Monmouth which are tied for 16th overall. Saint Peter’s currently stands 18th, and Rider 19th.

College ice hockey

UNION COACH BENNETT NAMED AWARD FINALIST >> Union College men’s hockey head coach Rick Bennett has been named a finalist for the Spencer Penrose Award, given annually to the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Coach of the Year. Voting will be conducted prior to this year’s Frozen Four in Chicago, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, April 5.

Bennett is one of four of this year’s 10 finalists that is a past recipients of the award, joining Norm Bazin of UMass Lowell (2013), Jeff Jackson of Notre Dame (2007) and Scott Sandelin of Minnesota Duluth (2004).

The other finalists this season are Ted Donato of Harvard, Tony Granato of Wisconsin, Jim Montgomery of Denver, Andy Murray of Western Michigan, Scott Sadelin of Minnesota Duluth, Tom Serratore of Bemidji State and Dave Smith of Canisius. The nominees represent any coach who won or shared Coach of the Year honors in his conference this past season, along with coaches whose teams have advanced to the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey semi finals.

Bennett, who was tabbed as the ECAC Hockey Tim Taylor Coach of the Year for the second time in his career (2011-12), guided the Dutchmen to a share of their fourth Cleary Cup title with a conference record of 16- 4-2. Union, which was picked to finish seventh in the league’s preseason coaches poll and eighth in the media poll, finished the regular season with an overall record of 23-8-3 (25-10-3 including playoffs), marking Bennett’s program-record fourth 20win season at the helm.
