GHOSTS OF GHOST SURGERY: “Ghost surgery” referred to when another person (usually a resident or intern) performed your surgery rather than your surgeon, unbeknownst to you. Though this is no longer practiced, there may be “concurrent surgery,” when a surgeon schedules two or more procedures concurrently and usually without the patient’s prior knowledge. Dr. Michael C. HONOR A DECEASED VETERAN: The Rensselaer County Honor a Deceased Veteran Program honors John Joseph McCann at this month’s ceremony on April 10at 8:30a.m. in the Legislative Chambers, Third Floor of the County Office Bldg. located at 1600Seventh Avenue, Troy. John served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Cross, a Destroyer Escort Ship that saw action in the Pacific Theatre, and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, The American Campaign Medal and an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 1star. After his service, John began a family while working in the Security Section of the Ford Motor Company in Green Island. John was a member of The North Albany American Legion, Post 1610.
