SCOPES TRIAL: Author and professor Edward Larson ‘74 will present “The Legend and Legacy of the Scopes Trial” at Williams College on Tuesday, April 11, at 4:15p.m. in Wege Auditorium as this year’s Phi Beta Kappa Sterling Speaker. Larson will compare the factual and fictional accounts (e.g. the play and film “Inherit the Wind”) of this trial and provide commentary about the cultural legacy of the trial and the film. A free screening of the 1960 film version of “Inherit the Wind” is being held at Images Cinema in Williamsto­wn on Monday, April 10. Larson’s talk is also free and open to the public.
