Somebody called in a Sound-Off that we’d be a much better country if the schools taught children to be socialist. Why don’t you look up the word “socialist,” and look up Hitler, and look up “communist.” That is socialism. Is that what you want for the country? If it is, move out; you do not belong here. We need our children brought up to be proud people, and socialists are not proud people. All they want is “gimme, gimme, gimme.”

For the person supporting Rep. Faso, whether the state or county covers the cost of Medicaid, it will still come out of the taxpayers’ pocketbooks, so we pay no matter what.

•••

To the caller saying, “Good job, Mr. Faso…” So under Mr. Faso wemove money to the state. Good job, but who pays for it all? We do. Mr. Faso is adamant about moving the money but has absolutely no recourse for the 24,000,000losing medical coverage or people dying because of loss of health care. This is how Republicans work: the rich get richer, the poor get poorer. It never ends. Good job, Mr. Faso!

I’m calling about the April 5article about the DEC and the Springer Road’s town gravel and a conflict of interest. They should look into the conflict of interest, meaning where does the town get their sand to put on the roads? I see Mr. Bigbee’s trucks coming out of them all summer, and then I see Mr. Bigbee’s trucks going back in in the fall and winter delivering sand, gravel, whatever. That should be a conflict of interest and someone should look into that.

I’m very disappointed in the Troy post office. I went there the other day to complain about mymail service and requested to talk to a supervisor. Some ridiculous woman came out screaming and yelling that they don’t have time to take care of these problems. Can I speak to someone above her, please?

I find it interesting that a woman says she absolutely supports the Saratoga Springs high school teacher who used political cartoons comparing Trump to Hitler. Does she remember that Obama’s father was a registered member of the Communist party? And I personally think Obama was one, too. I think this lady needs to rethink her comment.

I read in the paper where the Troy police detective bureau and their administrative chiefs and offices had to move from the second floor of 55 State Street across the street to the old union hall. This is to make room for a third city court room. I think it would have made more sense to remodel the building for the city court and leave the police where they were. To separate the detectives from the rest of that building is not really a good idea, and it’s not going to be an efficient or practical move.

The Children’s Museumat the Rensselaer Technology Park ripped off Troy by stealing its children’s museum, and there’s no way they can break even with the salaries the big shots make there. They had a recent plan to move to the SUNY Poly location that was shot down because, oh, maybe corruption has been mentioned.

What is going on with Hannaford in North Troy? You go in the store and the shelves don’t have this, they don’t have that. Come on, get with it. It always was a good store until this new manager took over.

I’m sure that Carmella Mantello will try to take credit for the revitalization of Troy, which started and has been happening long before she got in office. It was thanks to Rosamilia and the Democrats when they led the city council. So Carmella Mantello and you Republican cronies, don’t try to take credit for something you have no part in whatsoever. I hope that the voters remember this next time and vote you and your Republican cronies out of office.

All these people have done for the past few years is cry, cry cry and complain because Obama didn’t do anything about Syria. Now Trump has done something about Syria and now you hear the same people going blah-blah-blah because he’s done something. Make up your minds, people; do you want something done or not? We don’t want Syrians coming into our country, so don’t cry and complain because Trump’s doing something now.

So the city of Troy has a 14percent tax increase, you close our pools, you stop all our summer entertainment, and now we have a surplus that you’re going to sit on. You guys are out of control. Mr. Mayor, Carmella Mantello, do something for this city so the people who pay all the money in taxes get to enjoy the city. Bring back our summer concert schedule – but it’s probably too late now to book anybody since you fired Vito and canceled the entire program.

I’d just like to say that the Democrats will do all they can to keep any investigating from implicating Obama. To them the end always justifies the means, regardless of the truth. The only winner here is Jimmy Carter, who will no longer be known as our worst president. Expecting the Democrats to search for truth that might reflect poorly on them means a heck of a long wait. If the shoe were on the other foot they’d be all over it.
