TROY - Frank J. Taddeo, 92, of Troy passed into eternal rest on Monday morning April 10, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Frank was born in Troy and was the son of the late Marsilio and Louise Testo Taddeo and loving husband of Rita M. Paglia Taddeo of Troy. Frank served ved our country in the US Army during WWII as a Sgt., he received several medals and part of the citation that he was given reads as follows “Frank J. Taddeo while serving with the Army of The United States distinguis­hed himself by gallantry in action on Feb 8, 1945 in Luxembourg. Sgt.gt Taddeo, as chief of the section, showed out-out standing devotion to duty in protecting his artillery piece from damage while his position was being shelled by the enemy.” Sgt. Taddeo was presented with the Medaille deVerdun voted by the Municipal Council of the French City and had his name inscribed in the “Golden Book of Soliders of Verdun” and on March 4, 1945 was presented with the Silver Star.

Frank had been the sales manager at The John J. Boland Beer Distributo­r’s in Troy for over 40 years. He enjoyed horse racing at Saratoga, game shows on TV, following the NY Yankees but most of all loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Rita, Frank is also survived by his daughter Lou Ann Caruso of Clifton Park and was pre-deceased by his two sons Mark and Frank Jr.

He is also survived by his brother Joseph (Rita A.) Taddeo and his sister Philomena Taddeo both of Troy and was pre-deceased by his brother Ralph (Lo-Lo retta) Taddeo.

Frank was the very proud grandfathe­r of Vincent and Joseph Caruso. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

The funeral service for Frank will be held on Thursday morning at 11 AM at The Bocketti Funeral Home 336 Third St. Troy with Deacon Charles Wojton officiatin­g.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9AM until 11AM.

Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery Troy.

Frank’s family would like to express their deepest appreciati­on to The Communityy Hospice of Rensselaer County and the Hospice at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
