Shires Marathon 2017: Bennington County hosted the first Shires Marathon in 2011to celebrate the 250th anniversary of both Bennington (South Shire) and Manchester (North Shire), which are roughly 25miles apart. Its course, which follows secondary roads, includes 8.5 unpaved, low traffic miles. The race, which will be on May 21, 2017, starts at Bennington College and ends 26.2miles later at Riley Rink, Manchester’s Olympic sized ice skating facility. auditions: The Tri-City ValleyCats are set to host their 7th Annual National Anthem tryouts at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, April 8from 10:00a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration will begin promptly at 9:30a.m. and will be located on the lower level outside of Lord & Taylor.
The top five finalists will have their performances videotaped, which will then be placed online for a fan vote. The top vote-getter will receive the opportunity to perform on one of the biggest nights of the year at “The Joe,” such as Opening Night and the 4th of July, in front of an average crowd of 5,000-plus fans. The rest of the finalists will be awarded the chance to sing at another night during the season. Sage Gators Boys Basketball

The Sage Men’s Soccer Team will host the program’s first Boys’ Soccer ID Clinic on Sunday, April 30. The clinic will take place at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Athletic Field, adjacent to the Sage campus in Albany from noon to 3p.m.
The Sage Colleges’ Men’s Soccer ID Clinic is open to boys, high school juniors and sophomore, graduating 2018 and 2019. All participants will be exposed to college level training that will allow them to work on footwork, distribution, 1v1’s, finishing, and tactical play. There will be a certified athletic trainer on duty throughout the clinic.
