HISTORY OF TROY ACTIVISM: The Troy Public Library is hosting a series of three History Talks on activism in Troy this spring. Each lecture will be followed by a writing and drawing session that will allow participan­ts to react to the topic. On May 6, the Rensselaer County Historical Society, 572nd Street, hosts a drawing session with Monica Bill-Hughes from 10a.m. to noon. Using the current exhibit at the Rensselaer County Historical Society, the archives, portraits, and ephemera related to the abolition and suffrage movement in Troy, you will participat­e in a variety

I LOVE MY PARK DAY: Grafton Lakes and Cherry Plain State Parks will be hosting their annual I Love My Park Day events on Saturday, May 6. Volunteers will join friends of all ages for a morning of service on park trails, shores, and fields. The parks will thank their volunteers with tasty morning refreshmen­ts and a free t-shirt! HONOR A DECEASED VETERAN: The Rensselaer County Honor a Deceased Veteran Program honor Edwards F. Edward served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Dixie and USS McCord, both of which patrolled and supported our Marines throughout the Pacific Theatre.
