All the volunteers in Troy picking up trash to keep the city clean go pay their tax dollars to support the DPW employees who ride around all day, five days a week, in pickup trucks paid for by the volunteers. Wise up, volunteers.

In regards to welfare, I have a son who works in Social Services and his question to me is why these people have the nerve to drive up in front of the building in these great big beautiful cars and make jokes. They go upstairs and stamp if they don’t get what they want. It’s a fiasco five days a week. Something does have to be drastically done. I don’t know if our governor can shut it down and search for people really in need of housing. It seems there are too many.

I’m not ridiculing the president or his staff or anyone in the White House, or anyone in the media, so maybe this isn’t that interesting, but it is positive. In Lansingburgh a couple of days ago my nurse and I had to go out. I have trouble walking down my stairs. My leg froze ( I have MS) and a Troy police officer jumped out of his vehicle, ran up to us, gave me his hand and said, “Please lean on me, please let me help you.” His name was T. J. Feeney, I think. Whatever his name is, he’s a great officer and a wonderful man.

Shame on you, Brunswick school district. How do you expect our sports programs and athletes to thrive when the fields are not ready, practices are always canceled and there is no support from the athletic director, administrator or board members. Maybe it’s time for a change.

••• Regarding the Sound-Off about the person not receiving her mail until 7-8p.m. Don’t call the post office or postmaster; you have to call the U.S. postal inspectors and put in a complaint with them. Believe me, they’ll get to the bot-

tom of it and see what’s going on. I did it for myself and believe me, they’ll correct the situation. The number is 1-877-876-2455.

Okay, my neighbor has been on welfare for at least five years. A younger person, maybe fiftyish. She just hangs around all day, doesn’t have to do nothing, and the money just keeps rolling in. I thought Welfare was for when people were down and out, and they had to look for a job. Why am I going to work when she sits around doing nothing. There’s nothing wrong with her, she’s out doing what she wants and I’m sure she’s pretty healthy. The state is sick with this.

Well, John Faso, you are officially a Republican sheep. You did exactly what your bosses told you to do and made sure the big insurance companies get all the money they want, but the people who need insurance coverage aren’t going to get it. Why? Because you are an idiot. Remember that when people start parking themselves in front of your office when they get sick and their healthcare coverage is gone. They’re going to call the media people to come watch them die on your doorstep. Congratulations.

Is there any reason for an unattended diesel truck to be running for over 45minutes on a 45degree day. My neighbor does that every morning, without being out there with it. There are so many fumes in the air near my home, I can’t even have my windows open in the summertime. Even when it’s 90degrees he runs it for 45 minutes. Is there any reason for that?

It shows how Republicans are no better than the Democrats. They voted this Trumpcare bill in without even reading it. Isn’t that what the Democrats did with Obamacare? Is that what we’re going to get in the Senate too?

They’re just like the dirty Democrats. I though the Republicans were better than that, but I guess I was wrong, wasn’t I? That’s why I’m an independent, because both parties are corrupt and dirty.

When Trump said he was going to make America great again, he duped all you uneducated white middle class male voters into voting for him. He wasn’t talking about you people. He isn’t going to make America great again for people like you. He’s making America great for all his wealthy millionaire and billionaire cronies and corporations. That’s all that’s getting great again. Money to money, those who have keep on getting, and the poor pick up the tab and pay the consequences. Thanks a lot!

For several years now this vacant burned-out building at Second Avenue and 122nd Street has been standing. Why isn’t the city going after the owner for code violations with fines? The building needs to be taken down. It’s such an eyesore.

Only in Troy. With all the abandoned buildings and all the spots downtown and all around, two brothers need to make a beautiful old church into a brewpub. Parking is limited, congesting right at that area of Congress. Out on Pawling is the old Terminal Tavern, with a 100-year old bar, plenty of parking back in the back. Good sized old dining room. Perfect place for a brewpub. But destroy an old beautiful church? Is it possibly because the church is free? Of all the spots to have a brewpub! Only in Troy.

I’m watching Channel 6news, and once again Liz Bishop says she has something important to tell us about drug companies raising the prices of drugs. But it won’t be on until 11p.m. She’s going to tell us at 11p.m. I’ll be asleep.
