CCHS lax splits league games

TROY, N.Y. >> Colleen McDonnell, Lindsay Honsinger, Hannah Field and Grace Field each recorded hat tricks to lead Catholic Central’s girls lacrosse team to a 19-8 victory over Cohoes Monday.

Goalie Emily Carlow made eight saves for the Crusaders in the victory.

Sam Dater scored four goals and JJ Wilkinson added two for Cohoes in defeat.

ALBANY ACADEMY 14, CATHOLIC CENTRAL 10 >> Stephanie Szelest scored five goals and Candace Teliska added four more for Academy in the victory. Coleen McDonnell scored a hat trick and assisted on two goals for the Crusaders in defeat. Catholic High

goalkeeper Madelyn Zareski made a game-high 10 saves.

NISKAYUNA 9, SARATOGA SPRINGS 3 >> Becca Curro scored a hat trick while Erin Doyle and Annabelle Conover both scored twice as the Silver Warriors edged the Blue Streaks.

Lindsey Frank, Katie Silver and Cameron Parry scored in the first half as Saratoga Springs trailed 4-3. But Niskayuna scored five times and Mary Tiscione did not allow a goal after the break to clinch the Suburban Council win.

Saratoga Springs goalkeeper Abbie Searless made eight saves in defeat.

Baseball

SHENENDEHO­WA7, TROY5>> The Flying Horses jumped out to a 5-2 lead after two innings but the Plainsmen scored five unanswered runs to earn the win.

Joe Novenche and Joe Palko hat two hits to lead the hosts at the plate while Matt Ashley went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for Troy.

Brendan Disonell picked up the win on the mound for Shen and David Judge took the loss for the Flying Horses.

COLONIE 9, AVERILL PARK 2 >> Ryan Mcgee hit two singles and Nathan Toms pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win on the mound for the Raiders. Colonie improved to 9- 4 in Suburban Council play and 12- 4 overall.

CBA 9, SCHENECTAD­Y 1 >> Nick DeBrino picked up the win on the mound with one run allowed in five in-

nings of work and Ian Beauregard went 3-for- 4 with two RBIs for the Brothers in the win.

BALLSTON SPA 4, MOHONASEN 0 >> Jared Winkle went 3-for- 4 with two RBIs and Grady Gawrys pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings to lead Ballston Spa’s varsity baseball team to a 4- 0 victory over Mohonasen. ALBANY ACADEMY 5, LA SALLE 4 (8) >> Three clutch hits led Albany Academy to an upset of La Salle. E. J. Birch forced extra innings with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh then Ben Seiler hit a game-tying RBI in the bottom of the eighth that made it 4- 4. That allowed Parker Bolt to play the hero with a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning for Albany Academy (11-2 Colonial Council, 12-3 overall). La Salle (12-2, 14- 4) was led at the plate by Tim Caroll’s two hits, including a solo homer in the top of the eighth. COHOES 13, LANSINGBUR­GH 12>> The Knights rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning but it wasn’t enough in a Colonial Council defaet to Cohoes. Joe Kosowky had two singles to lead the Lansingbur­gh bats. LANSINGBUR­GH 14, GLENS FALLS 8 >> Joe Kosowsky went 4-for- 5 with a home run and four RBIs, while Donte Guzman and Devon Miller had three hits apiece as the Knights earned a non-league win.

Kyle Vachon went 4-for-5 with two doubles for Glens Falls in defeat. WATERVLIET 10, CATHOLIC CENTRAL 5 >> Noah Bagnardi earned the win on the mound for the Cannoneers. John Fratianni took

the loss on the mound and led the Crusaders at the plate with two hits and a double. SCHUYLERVI­LLE 9, HUDSONFALL­S3>> Cameron Alber went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Carson Dunkel was 3-for- 4 with an RBI to lead the Black Horses to a Foothills Council win Tuesday.

Softball

TACONIC HILLS 6, WATERVLIET­0>> Grace Bendon went 3-for-3 to account for all but one of the Cannoneers hits in a non-league loss. LOUDONVILL­E CHRISTIAN 11, HEATLY 6 >> Sydney Yim hit a grand slam and Jasmine Mullally had a three run homer for the hosts in a CHVL win. RENSSELAER 11, BERLIN 3 >> Melissa Stager doubled, tripled and drove in three runs for Rensselaer (11-1, 11-1).

GREENWICH 10, SARATOGA CATHOLIC 0 >> Rachel Hall pitched a three-hit shutout for the Witches and added two RBIs at the plate. Eliza Jordan hit two singles and scored two runs for Greenwich (13-1 Wasaren League, 16-2 overall). Saratoga Catholic dropped to 6-7 in league play and 8-8 overall.

GERMANTOWN 23- 4, LOUDONVILL­E CHRISTIAN 1- 0 >> Germantown picked up two wins over Loudonvill­e Christian. Jasmine Mullally was a hard-luck losing pitcher in Game 2 with a complete game two-hitter with nine strikeouts. NEW LEBANON 16, RENSSELAER 7 >> Isabella Toro went 3 for 5 with a double and six RBIs and Megan O’Brien was 2 for 4 with double and 4 RBIs for New Lebanon in the win. SHENENDEHO­WA 13,

SHAKER 0 >> Nicole McCarvill pitched a four-hit shutout for the Plainsmen in a convincing win over the Blue Bison. Kira Konarski led Shen at the plate with three hits and three runs scored. Marissa Folts went 1-for-3 to lead Shaker. NISKAYUNA 18, SARATOGA SPRINGS 3 >> Connor Wolff scored five goals to lead the Silver Warriors offense. Dylan Honis, Griffin Taylor and Matt Shamberger had the goals for the Blue Streaks.

GALWAY 4, SCHOHARIE 3 >> Matisha Kenyon had two RBIs for the Eagles in a WAC win.

Boys lacrosse

CAMBRIDGE 18, LANSINGBUR­GH 3 >> Max Hoffer scored nine goals and assisted on two others in a Cambridge rout. Luke Pandill had a goal and an assist for the Knights in the loss while goalkeeper Zack Penk had a game-high 20 saves.

CAMBRIDGE 10, HOOSICK FALLS 3 >> Max Ratelle scored a hat trick and added two assists for Cambridge in the victory. Guy Milliman, Zaine Becker and Jutin Lepage each scored for the Panthers. BURNT HILLS- BALLSTON LAKE 16, AVERILL PARK 3 >> Gordy Adams scored four goals while Alec Lind had a hat trick as the Spartans cruised to a Suburban Council win. Liam Gelder, Oliver Clayton and Will Fleming each scored for the Warriors. SHAKER 13, SHENENDEHO­WA7>> Nick Pepe scored five goals and provided one assist to lead the Blue Bison over the Plainsmen. Matt Stucci had two goals and assist for Shen in the loss.
