fundraiser: Four time World Series Champion Bernie Williams, who was a center fielder for the New York Yankees, and Latin Grammy nominated jazz musician, will be the a celebrity guest and will play jazz guitar at the 23nd annual An Aficionado Experience, a fundraiser for the Center for Disability Services, Thursday, June 8, at 6p. m, at the Pruyn House in Loudonvill­e.

Williams will sign autographs for VIP sponsors during a special reception, he and his

band will perform for guests during the night, and he will have his photo taken with fans in a special photo area. Tickets are $ 175per person, $ 325per couple or $ 1600for a block of ten tickets. Shires Marathon 2017: Bennington County hosted the first Shires Marathon in 2011to celebrate the 250th anniversar­y of both Bennington ( South Shire) and Manchester ( North Shire), which are roughly 25 miles apart. Its course, which follows secondary roads, includes 8.5unpaved, low traffic miles.

The race, which will be on May 21, 2017, starts at Bennington College and ends 26.2miles later at Riley Rink, Manchester’s Olympic sized ice skating facility.
