TROY, N.Y. >> Despite the loss of financial support from the city, the annual Rockin’ on the River concert series will return next month in Riverfront Park.

According to a news release from the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District, the series will begin Wednesday, June 7, with a performance by Almost Queen, a downstate band paying tribute to classic rock icons Queen. The 10-week series will run through August 9, providing free family-friendly entertainment while encouraging music fans to shop, dine and explore downtown Troy.

“We are excited to offer an eclectic range of music this year,” said Katie Hammon, executive director of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District. “A lineup ranging from classic rock, to folk, country, and sounds from around the globe, we welcome new and seasoned guests to Troy’s historic walkable downtown for this premier annual summer concert series.”
