Canaan man found guilty of driving drunk
NASSAU, N.Y. >>> A Canaan man was convicted of driving drunk after being involved in an accident last fall in Nassau.
Kenneth R. Sandstedt, 63, was convicted by a jury of aggravated driving while intoxicated and DWI, both misdemeanors. He faces up to a year in jail when he’s sentenced July 19 in Nassau Town Court.
On Sept. 6, 2016, Sandstedt was involved in a single car automobile crash on Route 20. Following the accident, Sandstedt failed
several field sobriety tests provided by members of the New York State Police and was taken into custody. Sandstedt was found to have a blood alcohol content of .19 percent at the time of the crash.
Assistant Rensselaer County District Attorneys Mark Pallozzi and Lance Dunning prosecuted the case.
