Kathleen G. Costello

TROY - Kathleen G. Costello, 81 passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday evening May 21, 2017.

Kathleen was born in Troy, NY the daughter of the late Frederick and Hannah Wallen MacGregor. She was a lifelong Troy resident.

Kathleen was a remarkable and active woman whowho returned to school later in life to earn an Associates Degree in Nursing from HVCC and was employed for 12 years with Eden Park Nursing Home in Troy before retiring in 1989.

She was an active member of the Cornerstone Community Church of Lansingburgh until illness prevented her weekly at-at tendance. She was an avid gardener who loved roses, especially yellow. A strong willed and family oriented mother, Kathleen also enjoyed music and dancing.

Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her husband George who died in 1992 as well as 2 sons: Stephen and David and siblings: Margueritear Smith, Brida Garceau, Fred MacGregor, Jr., Edgar MacGregor and Patricia Brauer.

Kathleen leaves behind to mourn her loss; daughters, Cynthia A. Flaherty (the late Patrick) of Hoosick Falls and Noreen (Philip) Lajeunesse of Cropseyville and her sister; Marian Ray of Clifton Park, NY. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be conducted at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Lansingburgh on Thursday, May 25 at 10 o’clock in the morning. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM.

Interment will follow in Memory’s Garden, Colonie. In lieu flowers, those who wish to remember Kathleen in a special, way may make a contribution in her memory to Rensselaer County Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
