Thoroughbred track to host three-day job fair
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » The New York Racing Association will host a three-day job fair June 15-17 for those interested in working at Saratoga Race Course during the 2017 summer meet.
The job fair will be held for a third consecutive year at the Saratoga Springs City Center, 522 Broadway, in downtown Saratoga Springs. Parking will be available in the adjacent lot on Maple Avenue.
The 2017 summer meet at Saratoga Race Course will run from Friday, July 21 through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4. Opportunities are available for administrative and office staff, bartenders, bets squad, betting clerks, box office, cashiers, chefs, cleaners, cooks, food service helpers and supervisors, general labor, giveaway helpers, guest services, hosts and hostesses, mascots, parking attendants, porters and barbacks, prep cooks, program sellers, retail clerks, security, turf workers, utility workers, wait staff and whitecaps and ushers.
Interviews will be conducted from 2 to 6 p.m. June 15 and 16 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age with state working papers, though; prospective security guards, cashiers and betting clerks must be at least 18 to apply. Betting clerks and cashiers must laos have significant cash handling experience, and security guards must have a high school degree or GED to apply. All applicants must bring a photo ID and Social Security card or I-9 form.
