Troy Flea makes annual return Sunday to Riverfront Park

-

TROY, N.Y. » Troy Flea returns to Riverfront Park to begin its third year from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The funky market is open in the park on the second and fourth Sundays from June through September, with about 30 vendors already scheduled to sell their wares this weekend.

“New people are hearing about all the great things happening in Troy every day, but many can’t make it to our city until the weekend,” said Kristin Jackson, Troy Flea manager. “Troy Flea is one more reason to come enjoy Troy on Sundays. We always love to hear when people come for Yoga in the Park, browse the flea and stay for brunch and window shopping.”

Among new vendors this year are a number of new vintage and upcycle sellers, as well as new mixed textile artists. They add to a lineup of products that already include vintage clothes, new and reclaimed furniture, jewelry, old comic books and posters.

Jackson and a business partner last year formed the new Troy Flea Market company, after Flea founder Jessica McEnaney moved out of state. Under Jackson’s management, Troy Flea continues to be selective about its vendors to ensure quality, diversity and attractive pricing. She and her partners view this year’s Flea as an opportunity to continue growing the market by adding new vendors while helping to draw more shoppers and revenue into downtown Troy on Sundays.

“We will keep the focus on fun, kitschy, beautiful, eclectic and weird things,” Jackson said. “We also have some great musical acts lined up for this flea season, starting with one of my favorites, the Wonderbeards, on June 10.”

Troy Flea is held rain or shine. For more information, visit www.troyflea.com or www.facebook.com/TroyFlea.
