TROY - Jeanne F. Hayes, 75, died suddenly at home June 15, 2017.

Born in Syracuse, Jeanne was the youngest daughconfa­mchilforpa­ss?”. ter of Charles and Mary Denver and the beloved wife of 54 years to John J. Hayes, Jr. Jeanne moved to Watervliet as a young girl and met her husband while ‘cruising the streets in her green ‘59 Chevy vertible. Married in 1963, John and Jeanne moved to Troy and began their ily of four - John, Char, Tim and Dave. Once their dren were of school age, Jeanne began a decades long career in the health office of the W. K. Doyle Middle School and will ever be immortaliz­ed by the phrase, “Got a With the birth of her first grandchild, Jeanne became known as Nanu. And Nanu she was forever more to family and friends alike. Nanu’s greatest source of pride was her grandchilt­heir dren, to whom she was absolutely devoted. She was a fixture in their lives - from walking the floors with babies to all of sporting and school events, right through their graduenKen­forher ation ceremonies. Nanu and Poppy especially joyed vacationin­g in nebunkport, Maine and brought this love of ocean, stone and shell collecting and, of course, lobsters to their grandchild­ren. These memories and so many more will be cherished ever. Through many talents, including cross stitch and crochet, Nanu’s family will continue to feel her love in all that surstoimme­asurable. rounds them. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include their four children, John (Gina) Hayes, Charleen (late Frank) Weaver, Tim (Diane) Hayes and David (Cheryl) Hayes; 11 grandCoste­lBrittany children, Madelyn, Mary Kate and Amanda Weaver, John IV, Max and Jake Hayes, Emma and Olivia Hayes, and lo, David and Joshua DengrandEl­ea(Miniecthre­e ver Hayes; two great children, RJ and Nathan; two sisters, Virginia (late George) Ribley and nor Sullivan; three sisters - in- law, Mary Ellen chael) Green, Helen Hayes and Kathy (late James) Hayes; and numerous es and nephews. Jeanne was predecease­d by sisters, Sr. Mary Catherine, CSJ, Sr. Charleen, CSJ and Madelon Denver.

The funeral will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Daniel D. Purcell FuInterner­al Home, 510 Pawling Ave. at Parkview Court, Troy and at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. ment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
