CONCERT ON THE GREEN: The Poestenkill Historical Society’s annual Concert-on-the-Green will be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 7 p.m. on the Town Hall lawn. “Winchester and Young” will be playing classic rock in harmony. Come and enjoy the warm blended harmonies and sing along to the songs that you know and love. All of our programs are free and the public is welcome. Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Free refreshments will also be provided and in the case of inclement weather the venue will be located in the meeting room downstairs in the Town Hall.

WOOD PARK MUSIC SERIES: The summer music season in Wood Park in Hoosick Falls will begin on Wednesday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m. with a concert by the Stardusters, a “big band” playing music of all periods. The eighteen piece group was formed by Cortland Cottrell in the mid seventies, is managed by his Son Bill and conducted by Bill Gaillard. This group has performed at wedding receptions, the “Center” and offers at Christmas Concert at the First United Church in Hoosick Falls. SCHODACK ISLAND STATE PARK: Schodack Island State Park comes alive with music on Fridays evenings with open mic nights. CHENEY LIBRARY BOOK SALE: July 1, is the date for the First Saturday Book Sale at Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls. In the Book Sale room there is a wide selection of almost new books: hardcovers, $1 and paperbacks and children’s books, $.50. Fill a bag with books from the tables outside for $5. The tables will hold a combination of hardcover and paperbacks of gently read books. This is a great way to get some good summer reading material. All First Saturday Book Sales starts at 9 a.m. and run to 1 p.m.
CHERRY VALLEY SCULPTURE TRAIL: On Saturday, July 1, Cherry Valley Artworks will inaugurate its 6th Biennial Sculpture Trail with a 6 p.m. reception in the garden of the Cherry Valley Museum, 49 Main Street, Cherry Valley. Twenty-two pieces of Sculpture will be displayed along the entire length of Main Street and will be on exhibition through October 7.

THACHER NATURE CENTER: Indian Ladder Guided Trail Walk, 10 a.m. Descend the cliff and learn about the geologic and cultural history of the Helderbergs on this scenic and historic trail. See underground streams, look for fossils and step inside the crevice cave along the trail. Trail is moderately rugged with stairclimbing and a couple of steep slopes. Wear sturdy shoes and meet at the Indian Ladder Trailhead behind the Visitor Center. Walk lasts about 1.5 hours. Call 872-0800 to register.

DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE: The Chapin Library of rare books at Williams College will host the annual July 4 reading of the Declaration of Independence by actors from the Williamstown Theatre Festival at 1:30 p.m. The actors will read from the second floor outside balcony of Sawyer Library. Visitors should gather on the library quad west of Sawyer Library and between Schapiro and Hollander halls. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place inside Sawyer Library. The Chapin Library’s collection of Founding Documents will be on view from noon to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Chapin Gallery on the second floor of Sawyer Library (room 406). TOWN OF PITTSTOWN SENIORS: July 5 is the date for the next monthly meeting for the Town of Pittstown Seniors (TOPS).
