SCHODACK ISLAND STATE PARK: Schodack Island State Park comes alive with music on Fridays evenings with open mic nights. CHERRY VALLEY SCULPTURE TRAIL: On Saturday, July 1, Cherry Valley Artworks will inaugurate its 6th Biennial Sculpture Trail with a 6p. m. reception in the garden of the Cherry Valley Museum, 49Main Street, Cherry Valley. Twenty- two pieces of Sculpture will be displayed along the entire length of Main Street and will be on exhibition through October 7.

GRANT COTTAGE: Remarkable Flowers of Mt. McGregor, 1p. m. The woods and waters surrounding Mt. McGregor have long attracted attention from both professional botanists and amateur wildflower lovers alike. Presenter Jackie Donnelly, nature writer and photographer, has been exploring the area for over twenty- five years. Her illustrated talk will explore several distinct habitats of the mountain. THACHER NATURE CENTER: Indian Ladder Guided Trail Walk, 10 a.m. Descend the cliff and learn about the geologic and cultural history of the Helderbergs on this scenic and historic trail. See underground streams, look for fossils and step inside the crevice cave along the trail. Trail is moderately rugged with stairclimbing and a couple of steep slopes. DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE: The Chapin Library of rare books at Williams College will host the annual July 4 reading of the Declaration of Independence by actors from the Williamstown Theatre Festival at 1:30 p.m. The actors will read from the second floor outside balcony of Sawyer Library. Visitors should gather on the library quad west of Sawyer Library and between Schapiro and Hollander halls. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place inside Sawyer Library. TOWN OF PITTSTOWN SENIORS: July 5 is the date for the next monthly meeting for the Town of Pittstown Seniors (TOPS).
