ROCHESTER - Mrs. “Corky” Alice Orr Plumb, 88, died peacefully, surher rounded by family at daughter’s home in RochEueste­r, NY on Friday, June 9. Mrs. Plumb was born Alice Frances Orr in Hornell, NY on Nov. 26, 1928, the only child of Vernon and genia Orr. “Corky,” as she was known, was an artist, very social, loved people, kept up with change (i.e. iPhone, texting) and was very independen­t.

Corky spent her hood in Bath, NY where she was a very popular and active student. She attended Syracuse University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and graduated with an Art degree in costume sign. She moved to NYC after graduation to work at Bloomingda­les, where she met her husband Thomas Peter Plumb. They settled in Center Brunswick, NY where Corky lived most of her adult life, and raised their four children. After they divorced, she taught art at Tamarac High School, worked in Real Estate, and took painting classes; creating some wonderful paintings.

Mrs. Plumb was an avid bridge player and a lover of old movies. She loved the holidays. With a lovely smile and keen sense of humor, she always added fun, laughter, and cheer to any party.

She is preceded by her oldest daughter, Cynthia Plumb, and survived by two sons, Thomas and Pe9 ter, one daughter, Sandra, grandchild­ren, and 4 great grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel in Troy, NY. She will be missed by many.

In place of flowers, a nation may be made to the American Diabetes Associatio­n.
