Joseph Henry Leathem Sr

LITTLE RIVER, SC - Joseph Henry Leathem Sr, 82, died Wednesday July 5, 2017 after a short illness at Grand Strand Medical Cen - ter in Myrtle Beach SC.

He leaves behind 3 children. Joseph Henry Leathem Jr of Brunswick NY, Briseveral an Leathem of Little River SC, Kellie ( Brian) Reynolds of Schenectad­y NY. Also nieces and neph - ews and grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren he so cherished.

Born and raised in South Troy NY, the son of Thomas Joseph Leathem and Helen ( McLaren) Leathem. He was the brother of the late John W Leathem.

He served in the navy during the Korean War, as a cook on the US Pinnacle Minesweepe­r.

After serving with the US Navy, he continued his career with Central Marthe ket ( Price Chopper) for next 43 years retiring around 1994.

The Leathem Family would like to thank all the staff at Grand Strand Medical that cared for our father.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy on Monday, July 10 at 12 noon with Deacon Charles Wojton officiatin­g.

Family and friendsare invited and may call from 10: 00 until 12: 00 noon. In - terment will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Sara - toga National Cemetery at 2 pm.

COHOES - Judith M. 57, of Cohoes died Wednesday July 5, 2017 afterfHunt­er, a long illness.

Born and educated in CoRexford. hoes, daughter of the late William and Helen Hamel

Judy worked as a Home Health Aide before becomher ing a homemaker raising children and grandgr - children.

Beloved companion of 36 years to Andrew Koltun of Cohoes. Mother of Gisele Hunter ( Bill) and Andreai Koltun ( Rich) both of Co - hoes. Grandmothe­r of WilVadney, liam Thornton, Andrew and RaeLynn Vad - ney. Sister of Robert Rexford ( Barb) of Eagle Mills.

Also survived by several nieces, nephe nephews and her canine companions Buster and Bitty. A special thanks to Josie Lanigan, Carolyn Jubert, and Susan Vau - trin for being such good friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc. 216 Columbia Street Co - hoes on Sunday from 4- 7 PM. A service will be held Sunday evening 6: 30 with Rev. Dr. Jennifer Tiernan Officiatin­g.

WE EST HOOSICK - PeterP Alan Martin Martin, West Hoo Hoosick, NY formally of Hartford, VT passed away unexpect - edly in a tractor accident at his home on July 4, 2017. He was born June 29, 1972 in Lakehurst, NJ to James A. Martin and Patricia ( Brunning) Martin.

Peter attended Hartford High School in Vermont and graduated in 1990. He attended Florida Institute of Technology and then moved to Troy, NY and began a career with new - ly- formed Brown’s Brewing Company of Troy and North Hoosick, NY. Peter progressed his brewing science education at the Siebel Institute of Tech - nology in Chicago and advanced through the ranks at Brown’s to become the Director of Brewing Op - erations. Peter’s extensive interests and talents have made him a beloved friend and co- worker to many people. His unique com - bination of process and systems design expertise coupled with hands- on fab - rication skills made him a subject- matter expert be - yond compare in the craft brewing industry. His ad - vice and assistance were sought after and offered to colleagues and competi competidiv­erse tors alike. Success in his industry was everyone’s to share, as long as you were willing to do the hard work required.

Growing up, Peter shared and prolific expe - riences with people close to him. He loved the out - doors, his family, his work and any project that called to him. Peter was always ys willing to help others, de - spite his own vast list of projects and responsibi­li - ties, with an enthusiast­ic zeal to exceed expectatio­ns.

Peter loved his daughof ters and developed special relationsh­ips with both of them as they became young adults, building their own impressive lists accomplish­ments and aspiration­s.aspir tions. He was a proud father. His family and friends are left with a lifetime of memories of family events, hunting and fishing camps, challeng - ing but always successful projects, and adventurou­s experience­s.

He is survived by his longtravel time beloved girlfriend Laurie Lucier, daughters Emily and Sarah Martin, parents James and Patri - cia Martin, brother James P. Martin ( Heather), sister Carrie Martin, and numer - ous aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a memoBrewin­g rial service and celebratio­n of Peter’s life at Brown’s Company - Wal - loomsac Tap Room, 50 Factory tory Hill Rd, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090 on July 10, 2017, from 3: 00- 7: 00. In lieu of flowers, a college tuition trust will be establishe­d for his daughters.
