Troy police investigate stabbing
TROY, N.Y. » Just one day after a shooting in the city’s North Central neighborhood, members of the Troy Police Department are now also investigating a stabbing on Oakwood Avenue Tuesday night.
Assistant Chief George VanBramer said that officers were called to 115 Oakwood Ave. shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday for a reported stabbing.
“A male victim was found inside lying on the floor, the victim was found with stab wounds that appeared to be lifethreatening,” said VanBramer.
VanBramer said the unidentified male victim was treated by officials from the Troy Fire Department and was then taken to the hospital.
“He was treated and transported to Albany Medical Center for further treatment,” said VanBramer.
VanBramer went on to say that the victim is expected to survive and that evidence technicians are still currently investigating the incident.
On Monday evening, city police said patrol units responded about 11:55 p.m. to Glen and 6th avenues to investigate a complaint of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found bullet casings and observed several vehicles that appeared to have been hit by gunfire. As they continued to investigate, police said officers located Muhammed K. Ceasar, 31, in a home on the 3300 block of 6th Avenue, where he fled after sustaining a bullet wound to the hip. Ceasar was taken to Albany Medical center, where he underwent emergency surgery, police said.
