Troy unveils more user-friendly website
TROY, N.Y. » Officials on Wednesday unveiled a new city government website they say will improve public access to city services and information.
The redesigned www. troyny.gov includes improved navigation and enhanced features and is also optimized for mobile devices including smartphones and tablets, according to a news release from Mayor Patrick Madden’s office. Madden said in the release the redesign is part of City Hall’s effort to serve city residents and businesses more effectively and efficiently,
“The recent upgrades to the City of Troy’s website further expand our use of digital technology and social media tools to link residents to the services and vital information they need,” Madden said in the release. “We will continue to explore and implement new ways to engage with our neighborhoods to develop Troy into a 21st century city and promote all the exciting amenities and activities that our community has to offer.”
The site features simplified layout and navigation, an improved search feature, an online city calendar and quick-link options to pay bills or find frequently requested forms and documents. Additional features are planned to come online in coming months.
The redesign was a cooperative effort involving the city’s Bureau of Information Services and Overit Media, a digital design and marketing agency based in Albany.
