FREE MOVIE SERIES: The Palace’s “Summer in the City” Movie Series, co-presented by Albany Medical Center and SEFCU, offers eight free, family-friendly movies to children and families from neighborho­ods around the Palace Theatre in downtown Albany. For each show, doors open at noon with educationa­l activities provided by Albany Medical Center. This week’s movie, “Finding Dory,” begins at 1 p.m. Free popcorn and beverages are provided to children 12 and under. Join the General, portrayed by Grant Cottage tour guide Steve Trimm, as he reminisces about his life in the saddle, the war horses that helped him win the Civil War, and his retirement dream of “settling down on my own farm and raising horses.” Tuesdays are Bonus Admission Days during the Saratoga track season. MILHAM PLANETARIU­M: Williams College invites you to experience the wonders of our universe at the Milham Planetariu­m, located inside the Old Hopkins Observator­y at Williams College. Astronomy students at the college will host free shows for the public on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. through August 3. Audiences will be treated to shows from the highprecis­ion Zeiss Skymaster ZKP3/B opto-mechanical planetariu­m projector. The Hopkins Observator­y, built in 1836-38 by the first professor of astronomy at Williams College, Albert Hopkins, is the oldest extant observator­y in the United States. POESTENKIL­L SENIORS: The Poestenkil­l Seniors hold weekly meetings every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Sullivan-Jones VFW post in Poestenkil­l. All seniors are welcome. Coffee and refreshmen­ts are served after the meeting, followed by bingo and cards. The hall is handicappe­d accessible with sufficient parking. The Poestenkil­l Seniors hold catered luncheons, clamsteams and fish frys at various restaruant­s. Best of all, they go on bus trips to casinos and other points of interest. Dues are $10 a year.

YADDO GARDEN TOURS: Yaddo Garden Tours will be held Saturday and Sunday from June 24-5 through September 2-3, as well as Tuesdays during racing season. Tours of Garden only include sharing the history of the Trask Family, the Mansion and history of the Yaddo gardens. The aura, spirituali­ty and creative energy that permeates Yaddo is discussed. Docent-led tours begin 11 a.m. at the main fountain near the entrance gate to the garden. Tours last about one hour, for $10/ person.
