MILHAM PLANETARIUM: Williams College invites you to experience the wonders of our universe at the Milham Planetarium, located inside the Old Hopkins Observatory at Williams College. Astronomy students at the college will host free shows for the public on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. through August 3. Audiences will be treated to shows from the high-precision Zeiss Skymaster ZKP3/B opto-mechanical planetarium projector. The Hopkins Observatory, built in 1836-38 by the first professor of astronomy at Williams College, Albert Hopkins, is the oldest extant observatory in the United States. ALBANY, A WALKING TOUR: A guided walking tour highlighting downtown Albany’s historic places and magnificent architecture. BENNINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS: Award-winning filmmaker Jay Craven presents a special tribute to Vermont writer Howard Frank Mosher, who passed away unexpectedly in late January. Craven made five “Vermont Westerns” during his 28-year collaboration with Mosher. His 20-minute talk, “My Life, So Far, With Howard,” will be followed by a 25th anniversary screening of his film, “Where the Rivers Flow North.” Tickets are $12 adults and $5 students under 18. GRANT COTTAGE: The Wheatfield, Gettysburg, 1 p.m. Historian Marilyn Jess first visited the Gettysburg battlefield over 15 years ago. She has expanded her knowledge of Civil War battlefields through reading, joining preservation efforts, and visiting other Civil War and Revolutionary War battlefields.
