REXFORD - Betty Baker Brassard, 91, peacefully­fully entered into eternal life on July 31, 2017.

Calling hours will be held at the White-Sanvidge Funeral Home, 58 Leversee Road (RT-40 in Speigletow­n), Troy, NY 12182 on Thursday, August 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m, Friday, August 4th at Transfigur­a-Transfigur­a tion Parish, 50 Hillview Dr., Troy, NY 12182. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Troy.

Marianne Shaw

LATHAM - Marianne F. Hayner Shaw, 72, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Funeral will be held on Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingbur­gh), Troy, NY 12182 thence to St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingbur­gh where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in Newtown Village Cemetery in Newtown, CT.

TROY- William Lansing Clarkson, 75, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017.

William was born in Troy, NY on March 31, 1942, and graduated from Lansingbur­gh High School in 1960 and Albany Business School in 1962. After serving six years in the National Guard, William spent time at D&H Railroad and McDonalds’ corporate of-ffices. He spent 26 years working at Albany Medical College, retiring in 2013.

William was a communican­t and active member of Prince of Peace Church in Lansingbur­gh, NY, where he served as the church council President in recent years,years, participat­ed on the church council, and played the organ for over 40 years.

William was a proud and active member of the musical community. He was a prior member of the Mendelssoh­n Choir, a founding member of the Capital Pride Singers, and a member of the American Guild of Organists.

William enjoyed spending time at his camp in the Adirondack­s, internatio­nal travel, and frequentin­g his favorite restaurant, Verdile’s.

William was the son of the late Howard and Ellen (Abrahamson) Clarkson. He is survived by his three children, Brian (Bonnie) Clarkson of Melrose, NY, Bruce (Michael) Clarkson- Hendrix of Fredonia, NY, and Pamela (Greg) Clarkson Freeman of Ellicott City, MD; brother, Richard (Debbie) Clarkson; and six grandchild­ren, Jeffrey, Dylan, Logan, & Shaylee Clarkson, and Natalie & Garrett Freeman. William also had one niece (Rebecca) and two nephews (Richard and Randy).

Relatives and Friends are invited to a funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingbur­gh.

William “Umpy” F. Umstadter, Sr.

HOOSICK FALLS - William “Umpy” F. Umstadter, Sr., passed away SaturdaySt­d morning (July 29, 2017) at the Gateway House of Peace with his family by his side. He was 62.

Born on Sept. 9, 1954 in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late George F. and Anna ( Wilbard) Umstadter. A self-employed landscaper, he was also an extremely talented bricklayer and mason, having worked in thethe Capital District area for many years. An avid outdoorsma­n, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as always enjoying seafood, especially Alaskan King crab legs with his iced tea.

In addition to his parents, he is predecease­d by a daughter, Sarra Anne Umstadter.

Survivors include his children, William F. Umstadter, II and Tristan Scott Umstadter, both of Schaghtico­ke; his granddaugh­ter, Allison Taylor Umstadter; his sister, Lee Chartier of Ballston Spa; a brother, Jim Umstadter of Florida; one nephew, Joseph Belmonte of Saratoga Springs; two nieces, Kimberlee Williams of Saratoga Springs and LeeMarie Towns of Rotterdam; his beloved dog and man’s best friend, Cassidy, along with many fantastic friends that supported and cared for him during these latest difficult weeks.

All are invited to attend graveside services, which will be conducted at 11am Monday, Aug. 7, 2017 in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghtico­ke. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
