TROY – Edward “Ned” Lillis, 76 of Troy, New York died peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2017 after an extended illness. Ned was born in Troy, New York on January 16th, 1941 he was the son of the late Christophe­r and Helen (Ormsby) Lillis. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School in Troy and proudly served eight years in the United States Army with an Honorable Discharge. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1489 in Wynantskil­l, New York. He was employed for 33 years at LaSalle School for Boys in Albany,Albany New York as a Supervisor of the Housekeepi­ng Department. Ned enjoyed Golf, Camping, Playing cards and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed Christmas Eve.

Ned is survived by his wife of 58 years, the love of his life Elizabeth “Elsie” (Kerwin) Lillis. Other survivors include his four daughters: Laurie (Jack) Keating of Troy; Mary Ann Yost of Watervliet; Christine (John) Richards of Loudonvill­e and Patricia Lillis of Wynantskil­l. His Grandchild­ren Jack J. Keating IV, John D. Richards, Jr, Nicholas C. Richards, Patrick M. Richards and his Great Granddaugh­ter Jenna Elizabeth Catherine Richards. His sister Mari-Mari lyn Welch of Latham, his brother Jack Lillis of Troy, his sister-in-law Marlene Lillis of Latham, several nieces and nephews and his dogs Max, Bear and Buster.

Ned is predecease­d by his brother Gerald Lillis, his brother-in-law Carl Welch, his son-in-law Bruce Yost, his Grandson Edward Francis ”Ned” Keating and his dog Jake.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy, New York. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday August 18, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church, 416 Third Street,t, Troy,y, New York. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
