MAPLEWOOD – Anthony J. Pafundi, Jr., 82, died peacefully Thursday, August 17, 2017 with his family at his side after a brief illness. Born in Troy on August 27, 1934, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Philomena Pafundi, Sr.

Tony was raised in Troy and graduated from Troy High School. HeH served his country as a member of the US Naval Reserves from 1952-1960. He was employed by Al Tech Specialty Steel in Watervliet for over 40 years as an ultrasonic operator before retiring 22 years ago.

He was a member of the Maplewood Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a member of their bowling league. He was a very active member for 56 years of Calvary Baptist Church in Colonie.

He loved sports especially the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. He loved his yearly trip to the Saratoga Race Course and loved eating at Testo’s Italian Restaurant in Lansingbur­gh.

He is the beloved husband of Tina A. Jewett Pafundi; loving father of Lynn Pafundi of Brunswick, Toni Pafundi of Latham and Sharon (Chip) Felock of Grafton; proud grandfathe­r of Tia Felock of Grafton, Cailyn Pafundi of Brunswick and Isabella Pafundi of Latham; special pop to Heather Joy Russell of Florida; brother of Mary Phyllis (Terry) Fisher of Troy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and his favorite feline companion, Missy

Gray.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:30 am at the Calvary Baptist Church, 12 Launfal Street, Colonie with Pastor Joe Roof officiatin­g. Entombment will follow in the Briarwood Mausoleum at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Calvary Baptist Church on Tuesday prior to the service from 10:00-11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly requests contributi­ons be made instead of flowers to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 12 Launfal Street, Colonie, NY 12205 or to the Happy Cat Rescue, Inc., PO Box 352, Guilderlan­d Center, NY 12085.
