HAMPTON - Harry Matthew Houser, III, of Hampton, Virginia passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017. He was born on March 31, 1948 in Brunswick, NY. He was the son of Harry and Lois ( Yakel) Houser. He was a graduate of Troy High School (Troy, NY).

Harry had a successful lifetime career in the automobile sales industry. His career began as a salesman at Cooley Volkswagen and Mazda (Rensselear, NY) and culminated as a finance manager at Suttle Motors (Newport News, VA). He served the customers of Suttle Motors for over 20 years. He was a true people person and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce A. (Crandall) Houser (Newport News, VA) and his mother Lois Houser (Troy, NY). He is also survived by his three sons, Harry Matthew Houser, IV and his wife Darcy (Averill Park, NY), Jason Oliver Houser and his wife Keri ( Yorktown, VA), and Nathan Kristopher Houser (Hampton, VA); his three grandchild­ren, Harry Matthew Houser, V ( Waterford, NY), Jackson Oliver Houser ( Yorktown, VA), and William Hyde Houser ( Yorktown, VA); and his siblings, Bruce Houser and his wife Stephanie (Speigletow­n, NY), Gerald Houser (Nassau, NY), Nancy Houser (Troy, NY), Paul Houser (Utica, NY), Stephen Houser and his wife Terry (Poestenkil­l, NY), Christophe­r Houser and his wife Patty (Clinton, NY), and Michelle Houser (Troy, NY). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry “Barney” Matthew Houser, II, and his sister Marilyn A. Houser.

Family and friends will host a celebratio­n of his life near the greater Troy, NY area.
