TROY, N. Y. » La Salle’s Paul Howard fired a 43 to lead his team to a 179- 202 victory over city rival Catholic Central in a Colonial Council golf match.

Girls volleyball

TAMARAC 3, CAMBRIDGE 0 » The Bengals beat Cambridge 25- 19, 25 - 14, 25 - 23 Friday. Kerianne Bugbee led Tamarac with seven aces and five blocks and teammate Hailey Hansen had four aces, three blocks and three kills. Alexis Rafus had three kills for Cambridge. VALLEY 1 » The Saints defeated HV 20- 25, 25- 13, 25- 20, 25- 21 Friday night. Grace Fornabia led Saratoga Catholic with 17 kills and 25 digs, Elise Browell had 20 assists and Ani Crocker tallied seven aces and seven digs.

Annie Phillips finished with nine kills for Valley and teammate Nikki Schaffer had five kills. 0 » Sarah Pinney had 12 kills to lead the Glens Falls offense in a 25- 16, 2516, 25- 15 win. Cheyenne Crandall had three kills, two aces and six digs to lead the Black horses.

Boys volleyball

SPRINGS 0 » The Eagles swept the Blue Streaks 2511, 25- 21, and 25- 10 Friday. Bethlehem ( 2- 1 Suburban Council) was led by Caleb Federman’s 20 assists and Michael Ortale’s 10 kills. ArloMarync­zak added eight kills to help lift the Eagles to a win.

Field hockey

2 » The Saratoga Springs varsity field hockey team got goals from Jessie House and Erin McCarthy in the second half to seal a Suburban Council win over Bethlehem.

Sara Phillips, Emily Leonard and Lindsey Frank scored in the first half to give the Blue Streaks a 3- 2 lead at the break. Bryan Jones and Gabrielle Shaver scored for the Eagles ( 1- 3).

In goal, Renee Banagan notched one save for undefeated Saratoga Springs ( 40) 0 » Lillian Hickey scored two goals and Anna Meyers, Madelyn Kasulinous and Tayla Conway added one apiece for the Panthers ( 3- 0) in a Wasaren League win. Hoosick Falls goalie Zoe Gress made one save to earn the shutout.

Boys soccer

FALLS 0 » After a scoreless first half, Cambridge got goals from Patrick Robertson, Daniel Medina, and Ian Montgomery to earn the Wasaren League win. Eli Robertson and Daniel Medina provided assists. PARK 1 ( OT) » The Patriots’ Patrick Palmer came forward from his center back position, beat two defenders along end line and delivered a cross to Miskas Kirstein to head home the winner. Palmer also scored the opener for Schenectad­y. Kevin Silver’s far post shot in the second half tied things for Averill Park and the game went to overtime.

0 » Mackenzie Bowie scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Raiders ( 4- 0) to a Wasaren League win. Hannah Garone, Jada Brown and Brynn Murphy also scored for Mechanicvi­lle. Greenwich goalkeeper Marquita Gutasy made a match- high 15 saves while Savannah Bowiemade one save to earn the shutout.

College field hockey

SKIDMORE 4, GENESEO 0 » Four different Thoroughbr­ed players scored in a 4- 0 win. Seely Fancher opened the scored before Saratoga grad Sarah Winters, Mary Beth Zahnleuter and Gabby Hyman secured the win with second- half tallies. Zoe McGuire made five saves in the cage for visitors to earn the shutout.

College football

RPI 36, WPI 14 » RPI football improved to 2- 0 and took home the Transit Trophy with a convincing road win over WPI. Quarterbac­k Ed Trimpert completed 11- of- 17 passes for 234 yards and five touchdowns to fuel the Engineers offense in the win.

Sean Egan had three intercepti­ons as RPI forced six total turnovers in the victory.

Blake rice went 29- for48 for 272 yards, two touchdowns and four intercepti­ons for WPI. 0 » UAlbany recorded its first shutout since 2014 and freshman running backKarl Mofor scored two touchdowns to help the Great Danes earn their first win of the year.

Quar t erback Will Brunson opened the scoring in the second quarterwit­h a 34- yard touchdown pass to Jordan Crockett. Then on back- to- back carries in the third quarter, Karl Mofor ran the ball 18 yards to the 4- yard line, then barreled up the middle for a touchdown run on the next play. His score gave the GreatDanes a 13- 0 lead. Mofor piled up 98 yards and two touchdowns on the day.

“I’mhappy with the win,” UAlbany coach Greg Gattuso said. “It’s tough. We’ve had two weeks of road trips to begin the season. We’re looking for some home cookin’ next week, that’s for sure.” » Union College’s football team jumped out ot a 14- 0 lead and never looked back to win its first game of the season.

Union running back Connor Kinzelmann was a workhorse with 26 carries for 136 yards while quarterbac­k Nick Cascione went 18- for- 25 for 166 yards and a touchdown. Cascione also ran for a touchdwon.

Jack Reilly had a 27 yard intercepti­on return for a score for the Dutchmen.
