HONOR A DECEASED VETERAN: The Rensselaer County Honor a Deceased Veteran Program honors Gerald J. O’Brien at this month’s ceremony on September 11 at 8: 30a. m. in the Legislative Chambers on the Third Floor of the County Office Bldg. 1600Seventh Avenue, Troy. Gerald served in the United States Navy as a Seabee during the Korean War, earning the National Defense Service Medal. After his service, Gerald returned to Niagara-Mohawk Power & Light Company and began a family with his wife Barbara. He worked more than 42years with the power company, retiring as a Supervisor of the Gas Department, and was a 20- year volunteer with Community Hospice, St. Mary’s Hospital and Sacred Heart Church. INTERFAITH STORY CIRCLE: September 11is a date seared into the memory of most Americans. The Interfaith Story Circle chooses to launch its 25th anniversary season on this date to make it a time for healing, care and comfort. The guest storyteller is Rev.
