MENANDS – William A. Millette, 92, died peacefully Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany surrounded by his loving family family.

Born in Oneonta, NY on August 8, 1925, he was the son of the late William H. and Katherine Carson Mil - lette. Bill was raised in Watervliet and was a 1940 graduate of St. Brigid’s School. He graduated in 1944 from Christian Broth - ers Academy in Albany in 1944. He attended Siena College, IBM Electronic School and several com - mercial banking schools.

Bill was a decorated US Army veteran ofWorldWar II serving with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy.

Bill was employed by the former State Bank of AlbaHe ny and later Norstar Bank for over 40 years retiring in 1988 as a Vice President. was a branch manager in Watervliet and Latham for many years before fin - ishing his banking career at the Municipal Relations Dept. in downtown Albany.

He was a past distinguis­hed president of the Latham Kiwanis Club, past President of the Latham Business & Profession­al Associatio­n, past President of the Watervliet Rotary, a Paul Harris Fellow Fellow, pastt All State Post Commander and All State Post Quartermas - ter of Watervliet VFW City Post # 729, Post Adjutant of the Thomas B. Flynn Amer - ican Legion Post # 1035 of Watervliet and was presi - dent of the Upstate ChapDivisi­on ter of the 10th Mountain Associatio­n.

Bill dedicated his life to the Watervliet VFW Post # 729 and was very proud of his associatio­n with the 10th Mountain Division based in Ft. Drum, NY. He was instrument­al every year in the planning of the City of Watervliet Memo - rial Day Parade.

He is survived by his lovMenands; ing companion of 38 years, Beverly T. Folderman of enands; and was loved by her daughter, Wendy Folderman and her grand - daughter Abby Briscoe both of Troy. He was the brother of the late Elsie Valetta and Elizabeth Grady and is sur - vived by several nieces and one nephew.

The funeral service will be Friday at 9: 30 am at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with Rev. John F. Tallman officiatin­g. The interment will follow with military honors at St. Agnes Cem - etery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4- 7 pm with the VFW wake service at 6: 30 pm.
