ALL STAR SPORTS FESTIVAL: Saratoga Casino Hotel hosts the All- Star Sports Festival on Saturday, September 23, welcoming revered profession­al athletes for a full day of fun while raising money for the Ronald McDonald Charities of the Capital Region. An annual alternativ­e

transporta­tion festival, the Collar City Ramble, returns to Troy for its fourth year with an expanded selection of tours and events. Several varieties of urban trails star in this year’s Ramble, from the wild hiking trails of South Troy’s Burden Pond Environmen­tal Park. to the “water trail” on the Hudson River below the Troy Federal Lock and Dam, to the natural and landscaped trails in Prospect Park -- not to mention the most familiar yet least used urban trail in Troy, the Hudson River. The September 23“Main Event” includes walking tours, bike tours and kayak tours, as well as free CDTA shuttle service between Ramble locations from 9a. m. to 2p. m. HIKING THRU HISTORY: Learn about the history and changing landscape of South Troy, shaped by the Wynants Kill from Colonial mills to the industrial era Burden IronWorks. Start at the former Burden Iron Works offices ( 1E. Industrial Pkwy, Troy) to hear local historians and examine pictures and maps of the changing landscape. Reconvene a short drive upstream at the parking area of the Burden Pond Environmen­tal Park ( Corner Route 4/ Mill St and Campbell Ave.) and hike through an urban nature preserve with remnants of dams and infrastruc­ture that supplied water power. WALKING TOUR: As the young city of Troy grew in the early 1800s, River Street soon emerged as Troy’s most important thoroughfa­re. This tour looks at the architectu­re, businesses and people who made River Street so successful. It includes an old River Street warehouse and plans for its renovation as part of Troy’s renaissanc­e. SARATOGA AUTO AUCTION: The Saratoga Auto Auction, presented by the Saratoga Auto Museum, announces a world- class classic car auction taking place on September 22- 23. Up for bid will be 200unique and vintage autos, classic boats and motorcycle­s, all scheduled to be auctioned from the stage at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center ( SPAC) as well as online via Proxibid and by phone. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the museum’s educationa­l programmin­g, including training regional high school students on the dangers of distracted driving.
