Burnt Hills balances run, pass
Tops South Glens Falls to improve to 5- 0
SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N. Y. » Burnt Hills- Ballston Lake football used a balanced offense of throwing and running to get a 48- 15 win over South Glens Falls to remain undefeated at 5- 0 on the season Friday night.
Burnt Hills coachMatt Shell said it is a big win for his team.
“It is a big game coming in, it is on the road, it is against a 3- 1 team and we knew how good they are,” Shell said. “We watched them on film and knew the kind of kids they come with. It was a situation where we had to come out on the road and make sure we got out to a good start. We were able to do that and the kids executed real well. They have a lot of good athletes, so they put a lot of pressure on you defensively, so I thought our kids did a nice job hanging in there.”
South Glens Falls coach Matt Hammond said his team was outplayed today.
“We played a good football team,” Hammond said. “As much as pointing out the obvious as that is, they are just well disciplined, well coached and just great athletes. Walking through the line and seeing 60 percent of themI am looking up at. I am not necessarily a small guy and they just do a lot of things very well. We didn’t execute well. We dropped I think seven passes that should have been caught in the first half and some missed assignments on defense really cost us. They are a really good football team.”
