Nisky girls swim edges Troy High

TROY, N. Y. » The Niskayuna girls swim team beat Troy High 88- 80 Wednesday. The Flying Horses were led by Elah Ginsburgh’s winning swim in the 50 yard and 500 freestyle races, Lydia Godman’s win in the 100 butterfly and Marisa Swider’s win in the 100 breaststro­ke.

Ginsburg, Greta Zampier, Mikaleigh Hughes and Swider also posted the winning time in the 400 free relay for the Flying Horses.

BALLSTON SPA 103, SHAKER 77 » The Scotties won eight events to clinch the team win over the Blue Bison. Caroline Pepper, Annalise Pepper and Emma Hoffman each won individual events and teammated with Kaitlyn Dybowski to win the 200 free relay.

Emily Yu won the 100 breaststro­ke, Vanessa Moss took the 500 free and Yifan Kao won the 200 medley to lead Shaker.

HOOSICKFAL­LS1, CORINTH0 » Emily Schnoop scored just before halftime off an assist from Mackenzie Sprague as Hoosick Falls’ varsity field hockey team beat Corinth 1- 0. Zoe Gress made two saves to earn the shutout for the Panthers ( 10- 0 league, 11- 1 overall) while Amelia Robarge had seven saves for the Tomahawks ( 4- 6, 5- 8) in the loss. SHENENDEHO­WA 1, COLUMBIA 0 » Olivia Howard scored on a secondhalf penalty corner to lead the unbeaten Plainsmen ( 11- 0 Suburban Council) to a win over the Blue Devils.

Mady Hogan made 11 saves in the cage for Columbia and Shen goalies Abby Danson and Sheridan Messier did not need tomake as save in the shutout. BURNT HILLS- BALLSTON LAKE 2, SHAKER 0 » Deirdre Rafferty and Christina Pedone scored in the second half to lead the Spartans ( 9- 2) to a win over the Blue Bison ( 2- 9). Paige Those had an assist for Burnt Hills and Rachel Kampilla made three saves to earn the shutout in the cage. Kelly Fitzpatric­k made a game- high four saves for Shaker. SARATOGA SPRINGS 4, BETHLEHEM 2 » Lindsey Frank scored a hat trick to lead Saratoga Springs’ varsity field hockey team over Bethlehem and become the Blue Streaks’ all- time leading scorer Wednesday.

Frank had two goals in the first half, the second on an assist from Jessie House, and the teams went into the break tied 2- 2.

Sara Phillips scored the eventual game- winner on a pass from Grace Ziehnert before Frank scored her record- setting goal on an assist from Erin McCarthy.

Renee Banagan and Kristen Rodecker combined for eight saves for Saratoga Springs ( 10- 2) in the Suburban Council win.

Tripanne Manuel and Abby Hepfer scored for the Eagles ( 4- 7).

VOORHEESVI­LLE 3, WATERVLIET 0 » Joey Saia, Marco Locoisano and Joey Ragonese scored for Voorheesvi­lle. Justin Cusson had a match- high 18 saves to lead the Cannoneers. MECHANICVI­LLE6, TAMARAC 2 » Chris Ciccarelli scored a hat trick, Jeff Luce had two goals and Marcus Tobin added one for the Red Radiers in the Wasaren League win. Ryley Hisert and Jack Mulligan scored for the Bengals.

Girls soccer

CAMBRIDGE 3, HOOSIC VALLEY 1 » Lily Phillips scored twice and Helen Mooney added a third for Cambridge in the win. Bri Bogue scored a second- half goal from a Sami Dickinson assist for Valley.

GALWAY 3, B- K- W 0 » Sarah Ernst, Griffen Gannon and Izzy-Mancini scored for the Eagles and the duo of Grace Montague and Ruth Reichard combined for four saves to earn the shutout in goal. MECHANICVI­LLE 5, GREENWICH 0 » Mackenzie Bowie had two goals and an assist to lead the Raiders to a Wasaren League win. Lea Hickey, Kelsay Harrington and Nevaeh D’Aloia also scored for the Red Raiders ( 11- 0- 1 league, 11- 0- 1 overall). Tierney Bassillon made five saves for Mechanicvi­lle and Marquita Gutasy made 13 saves for the Witches.

SARATOGA SPRINGS 9, TROY 0 » The Saratoga Springs girls tennis team won all matches in straight sets in a 9- 0 Suburban Council victory over Troy High Wednesday. SHENENDEHO­WA7, ALBANY2 » The Plainsmen swept the doubles matches in a Suburban Council win.

Girls volleyball

HOLY NAMES 3, RAVENA 0 » Holy Names beats Ravena 25- 19, 25- 17, 25- 23. Holy Names was led by Eleanor Cepiel’s nine kills and five digs and Sydney Neff provided 17 assists and three kills.

Boys volleyball

SHAKER 3, SARATOGA SPRINGS 2 » The Blue Bison edged the Blue Streaks 2325, 25- 23, 25- 21,19- 25, 16- 15. Alexi Nikiforov had 11 kills and 14 digs to lead Shaker ( 5- 5) while teammate Davis Ratigan had nine kills and Tyler Lloyd had five aces, 10 digs, seven blocks and 26 assists.

Saratoga’s Matt Myers finished with 17 kills, four blocks and three aces, Justin Keils had 13 kills, Quinn Montgomery had 23 assists, Aidan Reynolds had 11 assists and Garrett Myers finished with five kills.
