John “Jack” Gapp

WYNANTSKIL­L - John “Jack” Gapp, 83, passed away on August 19, 2017 at his home.

Born in Troy, he grew up in Grafton most of his life. Jack was the son of the late Philip Gapp and Marion ( F Foley)y) Gapp and the hus - band for 62 years of Janice Dunbar Gapp.

He served for four years in the U. S. Navy on the air years. craft carrier, U. S. S. Tarawa during the Korean War. Jack was employed at the Norton Company for 43

His particular passions were lifting weights, run reading ning, being in the outdoors, reading and hunting hunting. His is team was the Boston Red Socks, he was an active member of the VFW post in Grafton and he enjoyed volunteeri­ng at Van Rens - selaer Manor for 10 years.

Survivors include his children, Mark ( Nancy) Gapp, Gwendolyn Rober - son, John ( Jule) Gapp and Beth Gapp ( Paul) Litz; four grandchild­ren, John Gapp, Zachary Roberson, and Chelsea and Gavin Litz; a great granddaugh­ter, Dom - inique Gapp; a sister, Mamany donna ( Ace) Kreiger; and nieces and nephews.

Jack was predecease­d by his sisters, Dolores Crandall and Sharon Coultry.

The family would like to thank the wonderful angels who cared for Jack.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 7 at Van Rensselaer Manor at 10: 30 a. m.

Jack generously donated his body to the AMCH Anatomical Gift Program.
