Unbeaten squads earn top seeds
The No. 3 state-ranked Shenendehowa girls soccer team ended the regular season with a 15-1 record, tops among Section II Class AA squads.
That earned the Plainsmen the No. 1 seed and by to quarterfinal round of the postseason tournament. Shenendehowa (15-1) awaits the winner of No. 9 Colonie at No. 8 Guilderland.
The No. 4 seeded Saratoga Springs (9-5-2) team also earned a first round bye and will host No. 5 seed Shaker Friday with a game time yet to be decided.
Other Suburban Council, Class AA schools to earn byes are No. 2 Bethlehem and No. 3 Niskayuna.
Class A
Undefeated Scotia-Glenville (15-0) were awarded the No. 1 seed in the Class A bracket and a bye to face the winner of No. 9 Amsterdam at No. 8 Lansingburgh in the quarterfinal round.
Defending champion Mohonasen was seeded second after finishing 9-5-1 in Suburban Council play and given a bye into the quarters along with league rivals by No. 3 Averill Park (7-5-1) and No. 4 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (5-10-1).
Class B
Shen, ScotiaGlenville, Schalmont, Schoharie enter postseason unbeaten
Schalmont completed its undefeated regular season and were named the No. 1 seed and a bye in the Class B bracket. No. 2 Mechanicville (15-0-1) is also undefeated and will host No. 15 Ichabod Crane (3-13) in a first round game Tuesday.
No. 3 Schuylerville (11-41) also earned a home game against No. 14 Emma Willard (7-7).
Class C
The top seeds in the Class C bracket are No. 1 Schoharie (15-0), No. 2 Stillwater (14-2), No. 3 lake George (14-2), No. 4 Hoosick Falls (10-5-1) and No. 5 Cairo-Durham (13-1-2).
All top seeds earned a bye to the first round to be played Saturday.
Class D
Northville (12-4) was awarded the No. 1 seed out of 10 Class D squads followed by No. 2 Fort Ann (11-4-1), No. 3 New Lebanon (11-4-1) and No. 4 Fort Plain (4-8-3).
