LANSINGBURGH EAGLES:

MARCH OF DIMES CHEFS AUCTION:
One of the area’s most popular charity food events, the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction, takes place on October 24, beginning at 6 p.m. at Hilton Garden Inn in Troy. Prominent area chefs will prepare signature dishes created exclusively for the evening, paired with fine wines and spirits provided by Mionetto, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Brown’s Brewing Company, Soilair, Constellation Liquors, and Saratoga Courage. Following the tasting, there will be a seated dessert provided by Cake Street Bakery, a chocolate fondue fountain provided by We Do Fondue, and a spirited live auction. NATURE LAB:
The Sanctuary for Independent Media and NATURE Lab host “Open Hours for Art & Ecology” beginning on October 24. NATURE Lab (North Troy Art, Technology and Urban Research in Ecology) offers participatory art and ecology activities, gallery viewings, and conversation from 4 p.m. -6 p.m. every Tuesday through December 12 at 3364 6th Avenue, Troy.
OKTOBERFEST TRIP:
The bus will depart at 9:30 a.m. from the church parking lot on Tuesday, October 24, for the Speigle Elders’ trip to the Oktoberfest at the Log Cabin in Lee MA. The buffet luncheon menu features hors’doeuvres. a complimentary glass of wine or beer, traditional German entrees, accompanying dishes, and apple strudel for dessert. Following the luncheon, “The Swingiest German Band in the Land” will offer a variety of music in keeping with the Oktoberfest season.
POESTENKILL SENIORS:
The Poestenkill Seniors hold weekly meetings every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the SullivanJones VFW post in Poestenkill. All seniors are welcome. Coffee and refreshments are served after the meeting, followed by bingo and cards. The hall is handicapped accessible with sufficient parking. The Poestenkill Seniors hold catered luncheons, clamsteams and fish frys at various restaruants. Best of all, they go on bus trips to casinos and other points of interest. Dues are $10 a year.

CHARITY FASHION SHOW: On Wednesday, October 25, at 7 p.m., the Troy Chapter of the Ladies of Charity will hold their annual fashion show at the Franklin Terrace, 126 Campbell Avenue in Troy. YOUTH LIVESTOCK CLUB: Are you interested in learning more about livestock
or working on an animal project? Please join Cornell Cooperative Extension on Wednesday, October 25, from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. for the first meeting of the Albany County Livestock Club. This club will be open to youth 8 years and older interested in any type of livestock, including beef, sheep, goats, pigs, and rabbits. Youth directed activities could include animal projects, showing at the fair, field trips, or guest speakers.
