NO CHANGE ATOP STATE CLASS AA POLL
Unbeaten top seeded Troy High still No. 1, Saratoga Springs up to No. 19
Troy High (8-0) remained both undefeated and in the No. 1 spot after its 25-7 AA quarterfinal win versus Christian Brothers Academy in the Wednesday morning New York State Sportswriters Class AA poll. Saratoga Springs (8-0) a 34-13 winner over Bethlehem moved up one spot to No. 19 and Shaker (7-1), a 27-16 winner over Guilderland also moved up one to No. 24.
Once again Colonie 5-3 and Shenendehowa 7-1 were named honorable mentions.
Troy High, the defending Class AA state champs, have won 21 straight games heading into Friday’s Class AA home semifinal against Shen.
Class A
In Class A Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (8-0) remained at No. 4 after a 48-15 win over Gloversville to close out the regular season. Averill Park (7-1) jumped up four spots to No. 11 in this week’s polls after Friday’s 47-0 win over Green Tech.
Honorable mentions were again given to Queensbury (5-3) and South Glens Falls (5-3), the
other playoff teams alive in the A tournament.
Class B
In Class B Glens Falls (80) remained at No. 1 after Saturday’s 51-14 win over Ravena while Schuylerville (7-1) stayed at No. 8 after a 49-21 win over CobleskillRichmondville.
Cobleskill-Richmondivlle (6-2), Hudson Falls (5-3) and Schalmont (5-3) were all honorable mentions.
Class C
In Class C Holy Trinity (7-1) remained at No. 10 after a 42-0 win over Voorheesville. Stillwater (7-1) remained at No. 11 after a 56-7 win over Tamarac. Chatham (6-2) jumped into the polls at No. 15 after defeating Mechanicville, 4914. The Red Raiders (6-2) fell seven spots to No. 20.
Hoosick Falls (5-3) Watervliet (6-2) were once again honorable mentions.
Greenwich (8-0) remained in the No. 2 spot this week after a 53-0 win over Helderberg Valley on Saturday and Cambridge (71) remained at No. 5 after a 62-6 win over Granville Saturday afternoon.
Canajoharie/Fort Plain 6-2 was again an honorable mention.
