Dr. Collyer Ralph Matousek
GLENVILLE - Dr. lyer Ralph Matousek, 76, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 8, 2017.
Born in Schenectady, NY he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Chec ca) Matousek.
Dr. Matousek grew up in Schenectady, attending public schools then gradu-ating from Mont Pleasant High School. He attended Colgate University (Hamil-ton, NY) from 5826111.1fts University, School of Den-tal Medicine (Boston. MA) '61-'65 and began his resi-dency at Albany Medical Center from '65-66.
Dr. Matousek began his career associated with the dental office of Dominick I DeLuke. DDS in Sche-nectady from '66-86. He then went into private gen-eral practice on Fulton St. from '86299.
His professional affilia-tions included Ellis Hos-pital, Schenectady ('66-95) where he performed over 100 hours of dental pro-cedures in the operating room on autistic, down syndrome. cerebral palsy patients and others un-able to obtain treatise= in a normal dental office en-vironment. Dr. Matousek was with St. Claret Hos-pital from '66-86 as as-sociate and teaching staff professional, former mem-ber of Cleft Palate Clinic at Sunnyview hospital. Dr. Matousek was a life mem-ber of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Matousek was an avid hunter and boater. and was a member of Guan Ho-Ha Fish and Game Club in Glenville, a member of the United States Power Squadron of Lake George. a. US. Coast Guard mem-ber, and licensed Coast-guard Captain.
His personal affiliations also included B.P.O.E. Lodge #2157 Life Member; and former Schenectady County Deputy Sheriff. Dr. Matousek practiced dentistry in the Schenect-ady area 40 plus years. treating exceptionally fine patients. He was associ-ated with the Northeastern Dental Association from 199-2003 and co-founded and partnered with Dental Care Plus from 2004 till present.
He is the proud father of Mark Collyer Matousek (Wife Constance) of Hil-ton Head Island, S.C. and three cherished grandchil-dren. Alexander James. Haley Jayne and Cameron Mark Matousek. He loaves behind several nieces and nephews. He treasured his relationship with his eter--- nal friend and confident Esther Houk Matousek. and his loyal canine pets in the latter part of his life. Robyn, Sara Joy and Lo-gan.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday No-vember 18, 2017 at 10 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home.9 Glenridge Rd Sco-tia-Glenville. Calling hours will be Friday at the Glen-ville Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. NY.
