GLENVILLE - Dr. lyer Ralph Ma­tousek, 76, passed away un­ex­pect­edly at his home on Novem­ber 8, 2017.

Born in Sch­enec­tady, NY he was the son of the late Charles and He­len (Chec ca) Ma­tousek.

Dr. Ma­tousek grew up in Sch­enec­tady, at­tend­ing pub­lic schools then gradu-at­ing from Mont Pleas­ant High School. He at­tended Col­gate Univer­sity (Hamil-ton, NY) from 5826111.1fts Univer­sity, School of Den-tal Medicine (Bos­ton. MA) '61-'65 and be­gan his resi-dency at Al­bany Med­i­cal Cen­ter from '65-66.

Dr. Ma­tousek be­gan his ca­reer as­so­ci­ated with the den­tal of­fice of Do­minick I DeLuke. DDS in Sche-nec­tady from '66-86. He then went into pri­vate gen-eral prac­tice on Ful­ton St. from '86299.

His pro­fes­sional af­filia-tions in­cluded Ellis Hos-pital, Sch­enec­tady ('66-95) where he per­formed over 100 hours of den­tal pro-ce­dures in the op­er­at­ing room on autis­tic, down syn­drome. cere­bral palsy pa­tients and oth­ers un-able to ob­tain trea­tise= in a nor­mal den­tal of­fice en-vi­ron­ment. Dr. Ma­tousek was with St. Claret Hos-pital from '66-86 as as-so­ci­ate and teach­ing staff pro­fes­sional, for­mer mem-ber of Cleft Palate Clinic at Sun­nyview hos­pi­tal. Dr. Ma­tousek was a life mem-ber of the Amer­i­can Den­tal As­so­ci­a­tion.

Dr. Ma­tousek was an avid hunter and boater. and was a mem­ber of Guan Ho-Ha Fish and Game Club in Glenville, a mem­ber of the United States Power Squadron of Lake Ge­orge. a. US. Coast Guard mem-ber, and li­censed Coast-guard Cap­tain.

His per­sonal af­fil­i­a­tions also in­cluded B.P.O.E. Lodge #2157 Life Mem­ber; and for­mer Sch­enec­tady County Deputy Sher­iff. Dr. Ma­tousek prac­ticed den­tistry in the Sch­enect-ady area 40 plus years. treat­ing ex­cep­tion­ally fine pa­tients. He was as­soci-ated with the North­east­ern Den­tal As­so­ci­a­tion from 199-2003 and co-founded and part­nered with Den­tal Care Plus from 2004 till present.

He is the proud fa­ther of Mark Col­lyer Ma­tousek (Wife Con­stance) of Hil-ton Head Is­land, S.C. and three cher­ished grand­chil-dren. Alexan­der James. Ha­ley Jayne and Cameron Mark Ma­tousek. He loaves be­hind sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. He trea­sured his re­la­tion­ship with his eter--- nal friend and con­fi­dent Es­ther Houk Ma­tousek. and his loyal ca­nine pets in the lat­ter part of his life. Robyn, Sara Joy and Lo-gan.

Funeral ser­vices will be con­ducted Satur­day No-vem­ber 18, 2017 at 10 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home.9 Glen­ridge Rd Sco-tia-Glenville. Call­ing hours will be Fri­day at the Glen-ville Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. In­ter­ment will be in St. An­thony's Ceme­tery, Glenville. NY.
