Unbuilt area projects sought for program

TROY, N.Y. » Cornerston­e Consulting, in associatio­n with Troy by Gas-Light, is seeking entries for an evening of presentati­ons examining unbuilt or incomplete projects once planned for the cities of the Capital Region and what impact those projects might have had.

Left On The Drawing Board: Alternate Futures of the Capital District will be presented from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at the Troy Innovation Garage, 24 4th St. Organizers are accepting submission­s of 15-minute slideshow presentati­ons that must be historical­ly accurate and sourced from reliable material, with a submission deadline of Dec. 15.

A short question-and-answer session will follow each presentati­on, with an intermissi­on at the midpoint of the event. A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the presentati­on voted best of the evening, and gift bags with products from local businesses will be given to all presenters.

The event is open to all historians, profession­al and self- educated, ages 18 and older, as well as enthusiast­s of history, architectu­re, urban planning and engineerin­g with research and presentati­on experience in their area of study.

There is no submission fee, but applicants must provide a 200-word descriptio­n of the presentati­on’s subject and five to 10 high-resolution images in jpeg format. Potential exhibitors must also include contact informatio­n, a brief statement, including a biography and relevant experience.
