Unbuilt area projects sought for program
TROY, N.Y. » Cornerstone Consulting, in association with Troy by Gas-Light, is seeking entries for an evening of presentations examining unbuilt or incomplete projects once planned for the cities of the Capital Region and what impact those projects might have had.
Left On The Drawing Board: Alternate Futures of the Capital District will be presented from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at the Troy Innovation Garage, 24 4th St. Organizers are accepting submissions of 15-minute slideshow presentations that must be historically accurate and sourced from reliable material, with a submission deadline of Dec. 15.
A short question-and-answer session will follow each presentation, with an intermission at the midpoint of the event. A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the presentation voted best of the evening, and gift bags with products from local businesses will be given to all presenters.
The event is open to all historians, professional and self- educated, ages 18 and older, as well as enthusiasts of history, architecture, urban planning and engineering with research and presentation experience in their area of study.
There is no submission fee, but applicants must provide a 200-word description of the presentation’s subject and five to 10 high-resolution images in jpeg format. Potential exhibitors must also include contact information, a brief statement, including a biography and relevant experience.
