NMRHOF Holiday Open House:

The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will be offering free admission for its Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 2from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Special holiday-themed events will take place from 11a.m. to 1p.m., including an appearance by legendary racecaller Tom Durkin as Santa Claus. Durkin will be available for photos with children and families from 11:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. and will also lead a special children’s book reading from 12:30p.m. to 1p.m.

NYS Coaching Certificat­ion Courses:

Theories and Techniques of Coaching, one of the courses required to coach in New York State high schools, will be taught at Vent Fitness Center (2080Wester­n Avenue, Guilderlan­d, NY in Hamilton Square Mall. The class will be taught 7a.m. to 5p.m. on Dec. 16-17. The cost is $175 if registered before Dec. 1 and $225if registered after. First Night Saratoga 5k Run:

The 20th annual First Night Saratoga 5K Run, presented by Saratoga Arts, will be held on Sunday, December 31, at 5:30 PM. The race is limited to 1,500registr­ants. Awards are given to the top three male and female, plus age category awards. All finishers will receive a First Night Commemorat­ive Medal.
