CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. » The locally founded Northway Church has a new facility in Clifton Park for worshipers to come and pray.

Last weekend, the non-denominational Northway Church celebrated the grand opening of its new home at 770 Pierce Road in Clifton Park.

Over the past 15 years, since senior pastors Buddy and Debbie Cremeans founded Northway Church in 2002 in Malta, the church has grown from one small service in Malta to a large member base with six locations and community campuses, including Clifton Park, Rye, Milford, Del., York, Pa., Berkshires, Mass. and Southeast Asia.

It’s newest facility, created with the help of Troy-based Se- quence Development, is a total of 40,000 square feet, includes nearly 12,000 square feet for auditorium and stage space that seats more than 1,000 people.

The new building features a 20-foot-tall wooden entryway and a modern design, with enhanced audio, video and lighting capabilities. Additionally, the ground include a bike path, bike racks and gazebo. Inside, there is a private room with live streaming for nursing mothers.

The Cremeans’ said thier vision for Northway Church remains the same as when they started: to provide a church experience where people are built up and encouraged in God’s love.

On why Northway Church decided open this new location, Buddy Cremeans said, “Fifteen years ago, Northway Church didn’t exist. It was just a dream in our hearts to be a part of a church that would encourage, inspire and lift all people up. A dream of a church that would be diversified of all ages and stages. No matter who you are, your background, your race, or nationality, you’re welcome at Northway Church. We dreamed of a church that shared the message of hope, grace and purpose. To share the message of God’s not mad at you, God’s madly in love with you. Jesus was sent to build people up—not beat them up. We dreamed of a church that still believes God can do big things, impossible things. A church that would believe in, and invest in the next generation. To teach the next generation that faith, in essence, is solution based thinking. To raise up our children to be a generation who would walk in GODfidence. The key is understanding the paradox of

faith, that God believes in us more than we believe in Him. When we catch that, everything changes. As that message has spread over the past 15 years, we knew that building a new facility would give us the opportunity to greater spread that message of faith, hope and love.”

Along with the big auditorium, Cremeans said Northway Church offers an additional 4,000 square feet of education space. “We use our education space for our Northway Kids program on the weekends, but it can also be transformed into meeting or conference space,” he explained.

In an effort to give back to its new neighbors near Northway Exit 10, the church invested $100,000 in community-based infrastructure including the bike path and a gazebo, for the local community to enjoy for years to come.

These community features are being dedicated to 93-year- old Nelly Johnson.

Together with t he church’s continued goal to spreading the message of God’s love and grace, the pastor said he aims to further Northway Church’s reach of generosity. “It’s been our honor to partner with CAPTAIN in Clifton Park for over a decade, providing Christmas presents to underprivileged children. We also enjoy supporting children’s education by providing free backpacks and school supplies,” he said. “It’s been our honor to give back to the Capital Region by feeding the homeless, and taking care of our veterans. In addition, the generous people of Northway have provided over 700,000 meals to orphans in Haiti and provided hurricane relief to Houston, Florida, and Puerto Rico. This new building right off of exit 10, represents our gift to the Capital Region that will enable us demonstrate the love of Christ, do more and give more to our local community and globally.”

This weekend, church services will be held at 9:30 and 11 a.m. on Sunday at the new Clifton Park facility.
